Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and we all are looking for ways to make our Valentine’s Day special for the ones we love. My husband and I tend to stay home Valentine’s Day, preferring to spend a relaxing evening at home with our kids so I am always looking for easy Valentine’s Day Dinner Recipes that I can make at home.
Staying home for Valentine’s Day is a tradition that we started when our kids were small and we lived out of town where we had no family to babysit. It just wasn’t worth the expense and the hassle to get a babysitter and to go out to a crowded restaurant. We much prefer staying at home and then celebrating with a dinner out on another weekend.
That doesn’t mean that it can’t be a special night at home though. With a little advance planning you can have a great meal at home for the fraction of the time and expense of going out.
Valentine’s Day Dinner Recipes
Parmesan Shrimp Scampi with Linguine
Who wants to spend a lot of time in the kitchen on Valentine’s Day? Not me, and I’m willing to bet that you don’t want to either! That’s why I plan on whipping up this easy Parmesan Shrimp Scampi recipe for dinner. It is ready from start to finish in under 30 minutes–in fact, waiting for the water to boil is the most time consuming part of this recipe! Using frozen shrimp also makes it easier because you don’t have to worry about defrosting anything in advance.
Parmesan Roasted Green Beans
These green beans cook in the oven in under 25 minutes and they are so full of flavor! They soften and get so yummy and they are a perfect complement to the Shrimp Scampi, plus they add a jolt of color to the dish. YUM!! They are seriously so good that whenever I make them I never have enough!
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
These are super simple to make but they will need to be prepared them early in the day so that the chocolate can harden. They are a great appetizer or dessert after dinner. The sweetness of the strawberries mixed with the sweetness of the chocolate…my mouth is watering just thinking about them! This week Giant Supermarket has strawberries on Buy One, Get One so it is a great time to buy them and make this special treat!
This entire meal can be prepared in no time flat so remember to put on some music, light the candles, pour the wine and enjoy your relaxing Valentine’s Day Dinner at home!

I am so hungry for Shrimp Scampi now. Great Valentine’s menu.
That looks so amazingly good! I love strawberries, so strawberries covered in chocolate are absolutely amazing!
All of these recipes sound divine! We usually stay in too, so I’ll have to give them a try. And, I LOVE Giant. I do all of my shopping there!
