Most of my life I have been lucky because I really haven’t had to worry about my weight. As a teen, young married adult and even into pregnancy with my older kids I never had to watch what I was eating or worry about how much I needed to exercise, no matter what I ate or how much I exercised my weight stayed pretty consistent. I wasn’t super thin–and I certainly wasn’t toned–but I was just an average size with an average build.
Over the past few years however that has changed. I don’t know if it is part of the stress of 5 pregnancies and births or my thyroid issues or the fact that I am facing down the big 4-0 (gasp!) but little by little my weight has creeped up.
Two years ago I decided to do something about my weight and I ended up losing 35 lbs through diet and exercise. For the first time in my adult life I was fitting into a size 6 and I was firming up and developing muscles, but like many people I got lazy and stopped watching what I ate and stopped exercising as much and little by little the weight that I had worked so hard to take off had creeped back on–and truthfully, a few extra pounds had slipped on as well.
I decided before Christmas that I needed to get back on track and lose this weight once and for all. When I was thinner it wasn’t just about being skinny and fitting into size 6 jeans, it was about how I felt. I had so much energy, slept great and was less irritable. I was up early and had so much energy that I could fully enjoy my day. As the weight has crept back on my energy levels have decreased, my eating and sleeping habits are terrible and I just feel blah….I don’t want to feel blah, I want to feel GREAT!
That’s why I have decided to try Nutrisystem this time around. I love that all the food is prepared and sent to me so it makes my busy life easier, not harder. Making it even better is my husband has agreed to join me on this weight loss challenge so we are doing it together and we have both agreed to become Nutrisystem bloggers. Over the next few months we will both be participating in the Nutrisystem program and giving you weekly updates on our progress. We would like to lose a combined 80 lbs but we are confident that with eating well and exercising we can do this–together!
And you can join us too! Now until February 2nd, you can enter the Nutrisystem® Pledge to Lose Contest by clicking here on the contest page and finishing the sentence “I Pledge To Lose Because…” and you can win 3 months of Nutristystem!
I Pledge to Lose because….I want to be healthy and fit for my kids!
Make sure to check back weekly for our weight loss updates and I’ll also fill you in on what foods I like and what foods I can live without!
Disclosure: My husband and I have received 3 month of Nutrisystem in exchange for our honest review of the program. All opinions are 100% our own.
