In my house we are lovers of Disney and I don’t mean that lightly. My almost 3 year old is OBSESSED with Mickey and Minnie Mouse and so is my 7 year old. We watch Mickey Mouse almost every day and we have all types of Mickey and Minnie toys.
As I have mentioned before however, our schedule is pretty busy with swim team practice and that means that my almost 3 year old spends a lot of time in the car or in her stroller while her siblings are practicing in the pool.
One thing that I have found helps keep her occupied during these long stretches is to let her play games or watch programs on my iPad and I always try to find apps that are educational in nature so it isn’t just her watching some mind-numbing program.
That is why I was so excited to try out two NEW Disney Disney Imagicademy Apps. Disney Imagicademy is a new learning brand designed for families with children ages 3 to 8 to inspire a natural love of learning and encourage kids to learn by creating, making and doing and it features the new Mickey’s Magical World and the Disney Imagicademy Parents. Disney Imagicademy Parents allows parents to see what their children are doing in Mickey’s Magical Arts World, allowing me to see my child’s latest creations, provide encouragement and share their accomplishments with family and friends.
Plus, Disney Imagicademy is the first comprehensive brand of interactive and connected early learning experiences that combines the Disney characters and stories families love, with a research-driven curriculum developed in conjunction with top academics and education experts.
We were especially excited to try out Mickey’s Magical Arts World! I knew that my daughter would love it because it features her favorite Disney characters and I love it because it is both fun and educational! Offering 5 different games (Drawing, Costume and Movies, Materials, Design and Music) there are hours of fun available.
My daughter really enjoyed playing the music and lining up all the musical instruments to play in the band. I liked that Mickey was explaining to her the differences between tempo and beat and was introducing her to musical concepts in a fun and engaging manner.
Here is a little video I took of my almost 3 year old playing with the Music part of the app:
My 7 year old really enjoyed playing in the Drawing studio where she could color pretty pictures like clouds, butterflies and more. In fact, even my 8 and 10 year olds love to play this app and I have been finding them huddled up together playing.
Disney Imagicademy apps are available exclusively for iPad and can currently be found on Apple’s App Store in the Kids, Education and Entertainment categories. Enjoy!
