I spent a little time digging through my archives recently looking for the most popular posts of the past year month by month…it was interesting to see what posts you really enjoyed and what posts have the most staying power.
What was your favorite post of each month?
No surprise here, the 52 Weeks Savings Challenge was THE most popular post in January 2014 and guess what? It is also the most popular post of December 2014…I guess all of you are REALLY into saving money!
The 2nd most popular post of January was the list of NEPA Birthday Party Locations. I guess we all need suggestions on where to have those indoor parties!
We all had love on our minds in February as this roundup of popular recipes to make at home for Valentine’s Day was the most popular.
The 2nd most popular post of February was once again the NEPA Birthday Party Locations.
In March we all had Easter on our minds with a listing of local Easter breakfasts and bunny events being the #1 post. The 2nd most popular post that month was the 52 Weeks Savings Challenge…does that mean we were all sticking to our resolutions or trying to restart them?? Hmmm….
The #1 post was still Easter activities but the #2 post was the Peeps Easter Dessert recipe! YUM!! Make sure to click through to the recipes for the buttercream icing and my favorite cupcake recipe!
Coming in 3rd was the listing of Local NEPA Parks–does that mean the weather was finally getting nicer and we could get outside?
The most popular post this month was the NEPA MOM 30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge! Apparently, we were ready to open our windows and air out our houses!
The How to Freeze Strawberries post was also very popular that month!
Strawberries were still really popular this month, with the How to Freeze Strawberries post doing very well.
The 2nd most popular post was my Top 5 Tips for Traveling with Kids. With 5 kids and lots of miles on my car, road trip tips are something I know a thing or two about!
The Emergency Kit contents was a popular post in August and really, those tips work great for any time of the year. Do YOU have an emergency kit? Now might be a good time to put one together before we head into the worst of the winter storms.
Also popular was the How to Freeze Green Peppers post…I have bags and bags of peppers in my freezer, do you?
In October we had Halloween on our minds and the #1 post was the Simple Halloween Crafts, followed by the Household Energy Savings Tips post. Did you implement any of those tips to help keep your winter heating costs down? If not there is still time to do them!
November was all about chocolate as the Gertrude Hawk Open House post was the most popular but also doing well that month was the Household Energy Savings Tips post AND the post about the Top 6 Hot Toys.
As I said earlier in this post the 52 Weeks Savings Challenge has been THE most popular post of December–actually it is the most popular post of all time on this site.
Looking though my stats for the past year it seems like posts about Ways to Save money or time, as well as posts about local events do really well.
What do you enjoy reading on NEPA MOM? What kind of posts would you like to see more of?
I would love to hear your thoughts, as well as find out what YOUR favorite posts of 2014 were.
Happy New Year!
