Keeping your Dog Safe with Adams Flea and Tick Prevention

04/20/15 | Reviews, Uncategorized

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Adams™ Brand Flea and Tick protection. Flea and Tick prevention is an important component to your pet’s health and well being.

Three years ago my husband walked down our steps to find that our previously healthy, 2 year old Yellow Lab could no longer stand up.  He had been perfectly fine the night before and had shown absolutely no symptoms of not feeling well.

Protecting Man's Best Friend #StartSmart #AD

We, of course, expected the worst and immediately called and made an appointment with our veterinarian.  After an expensive day of tests we found out that he had Lyme disease and his joints were inflamed and that is why he could not stand up.

Adams Flea and Tick Treatment for Dogs #StartSmart #AD

All of this might have been prevented however, if we had applied Adams™  for Dogs Flea & Tick Spot On® to him before he was bit by an infected tick.  We had always applied Flea and Tick treatment in the summer but since it was early spring we hadn’t applied it yet for the year.  We didn’t realize that while ticks typically become widespread when temps are above 70 degrees the reality is that you can have ticks in your yard at any point once the snow melts.

Every year, especially in the spring I have to make sure that I check the dog and the kids whenever they come in from outside and my husband and I have become experts in tick removal. With little preventive measures however, you can help protect your kids from Flea and Tick bites when out in the yard.

I like to use the Adams™ Flea and Tick Control Products to cut down on Tick occurrences. Adams™ Flea & Tick Control Products at Walmart include:

  • Adams™ for Dogs Flea & Tick Spot On® with Free Applicator
  • Adams™ Flea & Tick Spray
  • Adams™ Flea & Tick Cleansing Shampoo
  • Adams™ Flea & Tick Home Spray

Adams Yard and Garden Spray #StartSmart #AD

I am looking forward to using the Yard and Garden Spray in areas of the yard near my porch where my dog likes to lay. I hope that by spraying the area it keeps ticks from being attracted to my dog…and my kids! It kills fleas, ticks, ants, mosquitoes and more!

Adams Flea and Tick Spot On #StartSmart #AD

I also make sure to apply the Adams™ For Dogs Flea & Tick Spot On® with Free Applicator on my dog already, before the snow melts and the ticks become frequent in my yard. I just had my dog sit and I applied it on him while petting him. Super easy with no mess on my hands! It provides flea and tick protection for up to 30 days and even kills and repels mosquitoes!

Thankfully, Lyme disease in dogs can be treated fairly easily with antibiotics and anti-inflamatories and my dog has been healthy since with just a few flare ups and now I know just how important it is to treat your pets for Flea and Ticks early in the year.

Enter to win with Adams Flea and Tick Treatment! #StartSmart #AD

I always say that knowledge is power and you can also sign up for free flea and ticket outbreak alerts from Adams™ Brand so that you are not caught unaware like I was. You can also enter for a chance to win monthly gift cards and product prizes now through July 31, 2015 with the Adams Start Smart/Stay Smart Sweepstakes by clicking here.

Make sure to sign up for the alerts and pick up Adams™ Flea & Tick Control Products the next time you are at Walmart and save your dog–and your wallet–from discomfort from Fleas and Ticks.

It’s important to have a high quality product for this kind of thing. Fleas you don’t want on your pet or in your house, and ticks are def. nothing to mess with… Great post too, with summer on its way.

Glad you dog was OK, you had me in suspense. It is good to prevent because antibiotics can be costly as well as vet visits.

It’s the worst when they’ve got fleas because you just know they are extremely irritated! This sounds like a great product! My dog always seemed to have fleas when she was alive. Even after we took her to the vet! Wish we knew about this!
