This Instant Pot Sausage and Peppers recipe has quickly become a family favorite!
When my kids were younger they didn’t really like the flavor of peppers but as they have grown and their tastes have changed they have been willing to try new things. I recently decided to take my mother’s sausage and peppers crockpot recipe and modify it to use in the Instant Pot and my entire family devoured it!
With our busy evening schedule, I often use my Instant Pot early in the day and then just let it sit there on my counter on the warm setting until we are ready to eat. I love using my Instant Pot because it makes delicious meals in a short amount of time and I don’t have to sit there and babysit it!

Instant Pot Sausage and Peppers Recipe
Ingredients
2 packages of link sausage–I like to use one package of hot sausage and one package of sweet sausage
3 green bell peppers
1 jar your favorite sauce
1 large can of tomato sauce
1 tbsp of Italian Seasoning
salt and pepper
Instructions
First, I like to cook my sausage in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees to partially cook it ( you don’t have to do this, I’m just very careful with pork products). Next, cut sausage into bite sized pieces and saute them in the Instant Pot until brown (you want them to brown up because that adds to the flavor–don’t worry, they will still be nice and tender when you eat them)
Once the sausage is browned add sauces, peppers and seasonings and mix well.
Turn the Instant Pot on manual for 30 minutes with no vent and allow the IP to work it’s magic! Dinner is ready when you are!
This recipe is perfect just as is in a bowl or you can serve it over pasta or on rolls for a hearty sandwich–no matter how you serve it, you can’t go wrong! I find that the longer the sausage and peppers sit the better they get and they are even more delicious as leftovers!
