One of the ways I love to save money is by buying items in bulk when they are in season and then freeze them to use later on. Just because you bought a ton of fresh fruit or veggies today doesn’t mean you have to eat them all now.
You can easily freeze them and then use them for cooking and baking later in the year when they are no longer in season and the price has gone up. This will not only save you money but it will also save you time because you won’t need to make as many trips to the grocery store.
Learning how to freeze food is also a great alternative to canning food, which many people get nervous about doing, and is very easy to do.
For my family I like to stock up on and freeze items such as blueberries to be used in breads and muffins later, Strawberries to be used in smoothies, red and green peppers to be used in stir fries, homemade waffles, different types of breakfast breads and more.
