Every Saturday morning I am faced with the same situation and let me tell you, it really stinks! My kids are competitive swimmers so they have early morning practices, my youngest is taking swim lessons, my husband goes to the gym and works out and I recently started doing Crossfit so every Saturday morning I am faced with a laundry pile of wet, stinky towels, bathing suits and workout gear thrown on the floor of my laundry room. What is a busy mom to do? Get organized so that I can get my laundry done in no time and get out the door to summertime fun!
My laundry room is a shared room with the downstairs bathroom and it is pretty small so I need to be creative when tying to be organized and space saving.
Household Tips for Laundry
1. The kids are responsible for emptying their swim bags of their wet suits and towels so I have them just throw them on the floor.
2. Once everyone has emptied their bags I start the washing machine with hot water. For tough jobs like chlorine filled swim wear and smelly gym clothes I pull out my trusty Wisk® detergent. Because I do all my suits and swim towels together I prefer to use the Wisk Deep Clean® OXI Complete® detergent because it safely whitens whites, brightens colors AND fights stains.
Did you know that Wisk has been a trusted brand for 60 years and was the FIRST liquid laundry detergent on the market? If it was good enough for grandma it is good enough for me and my stinky laundry, that is for sure!
3. Once the wash is done I then pull the bathing suits out of the washer and hang them in the bathroom on hooks. Because we are swimming so often I don’t want to have to be searching for bathing suits every time we are trying to get out the door to practice or to get out and go swim with our friends so I hung some double hooks on the wall across from the washing machine. This keeps them in the laundry/bathroom area and allows them to air dry so they don’t lose their stretch.
4. Towels go directly into the dryer. Once they are finished I pull them out of the dryer, fold them and put them away in the cabinets above my washer with my extra swim equipment or put them directly back into the swim bags so they are ready to go in time for the next practice.
Over the years I have found that by keeping everything in the laundry room I don’t have to worry that anything will get lost elsewhere in the house and we have everything we need when it is time to get ready for practice.
Next time you are out shopping at Walmart make sure to pick up some Wisk Deep Clean® OXI Complete® detergent or visit Amazon for Wisk Deep Clean® Free & Pure for all of your sweaty, smelly, wet messes that come from having summertime fun!

I love a detergent that gets out those gross smells! Nothing is worse then folding clean clothes and smelling them makes you gag and put them back in the wash.

There’s nothing worse than stinky, smelly laundry and I love a good detergent that gets the job done the first time! I need to try this on my son’s stinky baseball practice clothes.
