All across the country kids are heading back to school and their busy after school routine and whether they are in a traditional bricks and mortar school or they are home schooled there is one thing they all have in common at 3:30 p.m.–they are all starving!
Sometimes it feels like I have barely gotten the lunch dishes cleaned up and my kids are hungry again but I need to make sure that I keep them fueled up for their evening swim practice. Becasue three of my kids are competitve swimmers I need to make sure that they get filling and fun snacks before they hit the pool and I recently headed to Walmart to see what I could find.
Did you know that Bagel Bites are made with real cheese and homemade sauce and they have 0g Trans Fat?
These easy to make snacks heat up quickly so they are ready in no time and they are also a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen.
My son is 11 so I have been trying to get him more involved and comfortable in the kitchen and these easy and fun snacks are a great way to help him build confidence. He is still a bit nervous about using the oven but I am certain that with time and proper supervision his comfort level will increase, plus, when kids are involved in the cooking process it seems they are more likely to eat the food prepared.
