Even though out swim team practices haven’t started yet our schedule is starting to fill up with Fall activities so I have some easy, family friendly meals on the schedule for this week.
All of these with the exception of the meatloaf on Tuesdays are all tried and tried recipes that my family loves and that is why they tend to show up on our Family Meal plans week after week. I like to try new things but with 5 kids sometimes it is just easier to make what they enjoy and is still healthy and filling, so that I don’t have to listen to complaints all through dinnertime!
Here is my Family Meal Plans for the second week of September:
I plan on whipping up a batch of Blueberry Banana Bread this week (recipe here). My kids love this and since it makes two loaves it will last a few days. It makes for a great quick breakfast when paired with a piece of fruit or it can be used as a yummy snack.
Monday: I will be home all day with the exception of taking my daughter to piano practice so I plan on making 4 lbs of meatballs and a big pot of sauce so we will be having pasta with meatballs for dinner. Whatever sauce and meatballs I have left over I will be freezing to use in upcoming meals.
Tuesday: Today we have some appointments in the afternoon so I need something that is quick and easy for dinner. I plan on making my friend Christina’s from It’s a Keepers meatloaf recipe from her new book Dinner411: How to Get Dinner on the Table in 30 Minutes or Less.
Wednesday: I am going to make one of my favorite chicken recipe, Lemon Chicken Breasts.. This easy meal comes together in flash, is economical to make when you buy split breast on sale and I save the leftover meat and broth to freeze to use to make Chicken Soup.
Thursday: Pretty sure this is going to be Taco night–as I said last week my kids love tacos so this is always a hit in our house.
Friday: Pizza Night!! We tend to order from a few pizza places around town and where we order from all depends on whether we are in the mood for round or square pizza–YUM!
Saturday: We will probably head to the lake so it will be hot dogs and burgers on the grill.
Sunday: If we go to the lake again it will be hot dogs and burgers again, other I plan on making a pork tenderloin.

That blueberry bread is pretty! We are eating pretty simple this week. I discovered that you can throw several chicken breasts in the slow cooker with ANY sauce and have food without effort in a few hours. Last week I did Italian dressing. This week it’s barbecue sauce.
