These Easy Bug Repellent Mason Jar Luminaries are a great way to keep the bugs away and they smell great!
The weather has finally warmed up but it has been a WET spring and because of all that wet weather the bugs are terrible! These Easy Bug Repellent Mason Jar Luminaries look pretty, smell great and are super simple to make!
Easy Bug Repellent Mason Jar Luminaries
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups water
4-5 fresh lemons
4-5 fresh limes
3-4 sprigs fresh rosemary
3-4 sprigs fresh basil
3-4 sprigs fresh dill
10-15 drops citronella essential oil
10-15 drops clove essential oil
10-15 drops lemongrass essential oil
(2) 8-ounce wide mouth mason jars
2 Small floating candles
Now Citronella Oil, 1 OuncePlant Therapy USDA Certified Organic Clove Bud Essential Oil. 100% Pure, Undiluted, Therapeutic Grade. 10 ml (1/3 oz).
Now Foods Lemongrass Oil, 4 Ounce
Ball Quart Jar with Silver Lid, Wide Mouth, 1 Jar
Bolsius Pack of 20 White Floating Candles 1.3/4 Inch
Instructions:
Step 1: Slice lemons and limes into thick slices. Set aside
Step 2-4: Add distilled water to medium size bowl and add essential oils to water
Step 5: Give everything a good mix!
Step 6: Add 1 slice of lemon and lime to bottom of each mason jar
Step 7: Add about 1/4 cup of water mixture to each jar
Step 8: Add one sprig of each of the herbs
Step 9: Add 1 additional slice of lemon and lime to jar
Step 10: Fill each jar evenly with remaining water
Step 11: Top with candle and light.
*Replace water mixture in these essential oil bug repellent jars every few weeks as the effect of the oils, herbs and fruit will diminish over time*
How pretty are these? Perfect for all your summer parties!
Just place them in the middle of your picnic tables and enjoy the fresh aroma.
