These Double Chocolate Banana and Chocolate Chip Muffins taste great and are the perfect afterschool snack or easy breakfast!
I love having homemade snacks around so that when the kids get hungry they can just grab a quick snack on their own and these muffins are the perfect treat!
Double Chocolate Banana and Chocolate Chip Muffins Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 bananas, overripe
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup greek yogurt or sour cream
- 1 cup chocolate chips, or more to personal preference
Double Chocolate Banana and Chocolate Chip Muffins Directions
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Line two muffin trays with muffin liners.
- Stir together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
- Using a mixer, combine the butter and brown sugar for 2 minutes until light and well combined. Add an egg, vanilla and sour cream, and mix thoroughly.
- Add in the dry ingredients and combine fully, then add the chocolate chips.
- Scoop 1/4 cup portions of the batter into the muffin liners. Top with more chocolate chips, as desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until an inserted toothpick comes out clean and tops bounce back when tapped.
