I am always on the hunt for fun family friendly attractions in my area and I recently had a chance to check out the brand new Aquatopia Waterpark at Camelback Resort in Tannersville PA at a media kick off!
This brand new resort will open in two phases in 2015 (Phase 1 opens May 1st and Phase 2 opens in June) and is sure to be a top destination for families looking to spend some time together!
Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, part of the 170,000 square-foot indoor family adventure center, features seven pools, 13 waterslides, and a multitude of thrilling water attractions. Combining waterpark fan favorites with several never-before-seen attractions and slides including the Venus SlydeTrap, a combo family raft ride; Kartrite’s Quest, a next generation aqua play structure; and Storm Chaser, the longest uphill indoor water coaster in North America. These are all first-of-their-kind waterpark experiences.
Also, make sure to check out the FlowRider water attraction where you can get to try out your surfing dreams…I didn’t try it but I’m sure it is harder than it looks!
Aquatopia also features a 52,000 square-foot Texlon transparent roof – the largest install in North America – to provide year-round sun tanning and a balmy 84-degree environment every day of the year–thats right, you have to put on sunblock INSIDE the park–how cool is that?
While I was there I got to try out the new Hemisphere’s Restaurant, which is perfect for families. The food is served buffet style so there is sure to be something for everyone and it was really very good!
Additional dining options include Neptunes and Trails End Pub and Grille, as well as multiple eateries and bars throughout the resort. All restaurants and eateries are open to area residents, the general public and Camelback Resort guests.
For those of you who are bringing the family and staying the night, there are plenty of lodging options available including featuring 453 guest suites in 16 different configurations ranging from loft fireplace suites, one and two bedroom executive suites, and family suites with bunk beds.
That looks like so much fun! I love indoor water parks because you are not at the mercy of the weather.
And the food looks amazing, too! Tannersville is a hop skip for us, so it would make for a fun weekend trip.
Thanks for sharing!
I visited last week too and loved it! We are regular skiers at Camelback and I’m so excited for the new dining and entertainment options!
